It is with immense gratitude and excitement that we celebrate the 110th anniversary of Johnson Insurance. When our founder, E.C. Morris, first began offering physical damage insurance to clients at his in-law’s car dealership in Mocksville, NC, fewer than 25 of every 1,000 people in the United States owned a car. I often wonder if he could have envisioned the incredible evolution of his vision: from insuring early automobiles to navigating the complexities of today’s diverse insurance landscape.
Over the last 110 years, the world has changed in ways no one could have imagined. We’ve lived through world wars, economic upheavals, the rise of the internet, and transformative technological innovations. Today, there are more than 850 vehicles for every 1,000 people in the United States, including electric cars that look like something from a 1950s science fiction novel.
Here at Johnson Insurance, we’ve evolved too. From ownership transitions (with four owners before us) to expanding our geographic footprint and embracing technological advancements, each chapter of our story has been shaped by a commitment to growth and adaptability.
Through all this change, one thing has remained constant: our dedication to excellence. The question, “What’s best for the customer?” continues to guide us, as do our core values: deliver excellence, take care of yourself and others, find a better way forward, embrace challenges, and be trustworthy.
